At Mrs. Figg's House

This technically isn't an illustration for Chapter Two: The Vanishing Glass, but it was inspired by it. This is Harry at Mrs. Figg's house, surrounded by her cats. Here Mrs. Figg is showing Harry the pictures of every cat she ever owned. I couldn't convey the smell of Mrs. Figg's house (cabbages), but I decided to draw the horrid cabbage rose wall paper that I've been trying to remove from my own house for the past few weeks. I stuck my husband's cat in there, Winslow, who is standing in for Mr. Tibbles. My cat, Pheobe (aka the late Moozy), is on the back of the sofa looking rather haughty.

I think it's about time to start up a Mrs. Figg Fanclub. We could all draw our own renditions of Mrs. Figg, write stories about her and her adventures...it'd be great!

Then the fanon would take over, and we'd end up with 'ships like Mrs. Figg/Dumbledore or femslash Mrs. Figg/Madame Pince....maybe this isn't such a good idea. Strike that, no Mrs. Figg fan club.
