Artist's Comments

This is Magrat from Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels. Magrat is one of the Lancre witches (hails from Mad Stoat), who is more than a bit of a 'wet hen', she practices herbology, and unlike most of Lancre's citizens, can actually read. She also has in her possession a rather large collection of Occult Jewelry, none of which works. She's also got her magic fairy godmothering wand...but can only manage pumpkins at the moment.

"Magrat was annoyed. She was also frightened, which made her even more annoyed. It was hard for people when Magrat was annoyed. It was like being attacked by damp tissue." from Witches Abroad.

Love her expression! She looks embarassed. Great detail and I love her shoes!

"Oh Professor look! I think I found an unaspected planet! Oooh, which one's that, Professor?"
"It is Uranus my dear." said Professor Trelawney peering down at the chart.
"Can I have a look at Uranus too, Lavender?" said Ron.

Hmmm never heard of Discworld, although I like the drawing, sounds like something I would read.

Also on my highly recommended list. Anything by Terry Pratchett. He's for fantasy as Douglas Adams was to sci fi. British humor, and poking fun at the usual fantasy storylines. There's a reading order guide here:

Magrat's my second favorite character after Sam Vimes of the Night Watch. She reminds me of me!

That bag of money was like a baby to me. Except it was made of gold instead of useless baby meat.

Very cool. I like how she's scruffy and pretty at the same time. Cool little sketchy pumpkins in the background!

Very nice! I'm very excited that you do both Harry Potter and Discworld things, as I love both.

Marry Me? XD

You rock. Period. So does his lordship, Terry Pratchett. Magrat was great in Lords and Ladies.

Aaaaah it's Magret - I haven't seen a lot discworld art out there. She looks just the way she is described - it's amazing. First I didn't want to comment on a specific picture because I would have needed to comment on all, but your Magret really got me :)
