OK, I can explain myself. First of all, yes, this is one of those ubiquitous drawings of the characters floating in a blank space. I do realize I have been outspoken on the evils of drawing floating characters in the past, so this in effect makes me a hypocrite. But I would like to say in my defense, I have two reasons for doing this.
Reason number one is: Someone asked me to illustrate scenes from a fanfic about the marauders, and I said no. I feel really bad about saying no, and I hope this in some small way makes up for it. I don't read HP fanfic, and it is something else I've spoken out against in the past, so I don't want to make myself into an even bigger hypocrite.
Reason number two is: I just got a book on costumes from 1200-2000 and I really wanted to draw some fancy costumes! So there!
So, here are the Marauders in fancy dress robes. Yes, Remus is all tidy and such...but let's just imagine that this takes place when his parents are still taking care of him. That, or he borrowed someone else's robes. I am aware of the similarities between Sirius' hairstyle and Wolverine's. Thanks for that astute observation, and yes, it's intentional. I like the little cowlicks in his hair. James looks a bit like a pirate (arrrr! It's Steve the Pirate!) Never drawn Wormtail before, at least not in his human form. I hope he looks sufficiently dorky.
Oh wow! That is amazing. I love the costumes, they fit the each of them so well. BTW am I the only one who noticed the double entendre between Remus and Sirius?

it brilliant, oh and blackglaze? the reason it looks like harry is because its harry's dad! its James Potter and as it states in all the books Harry looks exactly like his father except for his mother's eyes........ anywaysGREAT JOB beautiful detailing i love it
Sirius and JAmes are both loaded. Let's pretend that they bough Remus some nice dress robes, but like Harry would do for Ron, if he thought for half a second that Ron would accept them. ^_^ Or Mrs. Weasely for that matter.

Nearly all of us, if not every single one of us, have come across a deviation that just has a disappointing '...'. Conversely, some of us have even come across a massive wall of text.
Whether we are the people who ask ourselves, "Is that it?", or whether we are the people who ask ourselves, "What can I say?", this guide will hopefully provide you with some insight in how to go about writing a good description for your deviations, a.k.a. your Artist's (or Author's) Comments.
