OK, I can explain myself. First of all, yes, this is one of those ubiquitous drawings of the characters floating in a blank space. I do realize I have been outspoken on the evils of drawing floating characters in the past, so this in effect makes me a hypocrite. But I would like to say in my defense, I have two reasons for doing this.
Reason number one is: Someone asked me to illustrate scenes from a fanfic about the marauders, and I said no. I feel really bad about saying no, and I hope this in some small way makes up for it. I don't read HP fanfic, and it is something else I've spoken out against in the past, so I don't want to make myself into an even bigger hypocrite.
Reason number two is: I just got a book on costumes from 1200-2000 and I really wanted to draw some fancy costumes! So there!
So, here are the Marauders in fancy dress robes. Yes, Remus is all tidy and such...but let's just imagine that this takes place when his parents are still taking care of him. That, or he borrowed someone else's robes. I am aware of the similarities between Sirius' hairstyle and Wolverine's. Thanks for that astute observation, and yes, it's intentional. I like the little cowlicks in his hair. James looks a bit like a pirate (arrrr! It's Steve the Pirate!) Never drawn Wormtail before, at least not in his human form. I hope he looks sufficiently dorky.
Geez...first one here^^ I really love this one...Who's fanfic didn't you want to illustrate by the way? Okay, don't get this wrong...i love this pic and the clothes and the wrinkles and all and their expressions love it...but actually you should look a bit after the proportions...I think Peter and Sirius are looking a bit....well, a bit weird somehow...maybe it's their arms or legs...I can't decide...Please please don't get this wrong...I love it, I really do!
no, it's not just you. the middle person is James, Harry Potter's dad, and they are supposed to look alot alike. Of course, James has no scar, but other than that, they're pretty much the same.

That bag of money was like a baby to me. Except it was made of gold instead of useless baby meat.
ack, you're right. Sirius' arms are way too long. sometimes i just don't see these things while the drawing is sitting on my lap. it isn't till i post it in the upright position that i realize my mistakes. oh well, he'll just have to have monkey arms. and maybe peter's a hunchback or something. i don't mind if he's weird lookin'. i hate him!

oooo I think you're the first artist that I've seen make Remus taller than the other Marauders (without it being a reference to the PoA movie) Lovely dress robes.
We want to know what love means to you!
Get your creative juices flowing and design a movie poster for "Paper Heart" that focuses on the theme "What Does Love Mean to Me?".
The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
Hello there! This news article is the result of a thumb share thread I posted few days ago on the dA forum along with pictures from my favorites. I hope you enjoy them.
