An image I drew for West End Games. 4.5x5.5" pencil on matboard.

Sort of thinking of those Anita Blake Vampire Hunter novels, y'know since she could raise the dead and talk to zombies and stuff...but that was before the whole series took a turn right into the crapper and suddenly she's doing all her work 'laying down' if ya know what I mean. Put your pants on Anita, and get back to raising zombies.

But seriously, this is very nice work.

I'm sorry, but I have now left DeviantArt. You can still see what's on my profile page if you'd like.

Woooo....this is a very good one :)

The pen is mightier than the sword, if it is sharpened to a fine point, dipped in deadly poison and thrown from 10 feet away. But really, you're better off with a sword.

Oh, that's quite freaky. Nicely drawn :)

Necromancers are so cool. I really like the light effect you gave around her. That really sets off the whole piece. Yay! For Fantasy!!

Very nice work.

Agree just about word for word on Anita (my friends and I have been having this exact conversation a lot recently). A Publishers' Weekly review said "Anita needs to put her pants back on and get back to work." Definitely needs more of what you show in this particular drawing. ^_^

wah! that's funny! i stopped reading anita blake novels after blue moon. that scene where every single werewolf in a five mile radius wanting to have sex with her put me over the edge. that is so not scary...and too ridiculous. Have you read any of kim harrisons books, or kelley armstrong? they both have vamps and weres in them, and the smut is evenly balanced with a decent story line.

That bag of money was like a baby to me. Except it was made of gold instead of useless baby meat.

I hated Blue Moon, and, I agree, the one before that, book 7, is the place to stop. I liked Obsidian Butterly, the one right after that, somewhat better (It had no sex, and it did have Edward, which was an improvement). Haven't read any of them after that, but I get reports from friends. I like the old Jean-Claude, the game playing, psychological, sneaky trickster fellow, and I wasn't seeing any of him (I didn't mind that they were having sex, but I want him to have to work for it, every time ^_^). Plus, I really was interested in the very grey ethical stands Jean Claude had to take, that he was so aware of, even if it went over Anita's head.

I've read Dead Witch Walking, which I enjoyed, if that's either of those two authors. Another fave is Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden series - a wizard in Chicago, best buddies with Murphy (I forget her first name, since no one uses it), the tough little blonde cop who has no supernatural powers, and doesn't need 'em. These are definitely lighter, not so intense as Anita, but what is?
